TN NAFTA Visas
The North American Free Trade Agreement created a certain visa classification for Canadian and Mexican professional workers.
To qualify for a TN visa, the Beneficiary must be a citizen of Canada or Mexico, and work in a professional occupation that is on the NAFTA list. The Beneficiary must qualify as a professional for either a full time or part time position and can demonstrate that her stay is temporary.
Mexican Beneficiaries must apply at the consulate and receive the visa in their passports. Canadians, because they are visa exempt, may simply apply at the Port of Entry and may even renew at a Mexican Port of Entry. There is no dual intent with this visa classification.
